Microwaving leftovers in plastic containers.... can it lead to Diabetes?

Ok, I've heard all the hype, about plastics, and how they can cause certain problems, with your body.  Heating leftovers in plastic isn't good for you, according to this article.

Nuking your food in a plastic container unleashes a slew of toxic chemicals into the food, some of which cause insulin resistance and high blood pressure, two factors in diabetes.

We don't realize what heating Tupperware, or other plastics containers, in a microwave could be doing to our bodies. We're just looking for a quick fix.

Well yah!  When I am hungry, I have a hard time even waiting for the microwave to heat up some food for me.  When you are working for someone, you usually only have a certain length of time to eat, then have to be back to work.

For me, being single, it is difficult for me to cook, for just one.  I tend to cook a little more, then either freeze it or put it in the refrigerator, in the plastic containers, to be warmed up later, in the microwave.

I don't have someone who will cook my meals for me and call, when it is ready.  I don't mind cooking, but when I get involved in something, I tend to wait until I am really hungry and don't want to wait.

I usually don't cook, in the microwave, but I use it a lot for warming up leftovers.  When your single, don't have much money or have much of an income, you can't go out and buy glass containers or containers, like Corelle.

My favorite, is to buy deli meats, in the nice square plastic containers, with the snap on lids.  I use them for putting food in, which I cooked more of, to either be frozen in or warmed up in the microwave.

Of course I shouldn't be using these containers.  Now I am reminded of how bad this is for me and it could contribute to high blood pressure and diabetes.

Even when unheated, the chemicals enter the body at small doses, and are bad for you.  "Heating enhances contamination.”

According to the article, you can avoid some of the high levels of the chemicals, which are in the plastic, which are bad for you, when you heat them in the microwave.

Avoid using plastic containers or plastic wraps when microwaving food
Avoid washing plastic containers in the dishwasher as the chemicals can be released
Avoid plastic containers labeled 3, 6, and 7.

It is suggested you use paper plates & paper bowls, when warming the left overs up.  Of course, then you have to wonder, what you store the food in, until you warm it up.

Do they have paper containers, which don't absorb liquids and get soft?  Do they have glass containers, which don't have plastic lids?

It is really hard to know what to do, because it is always coming out, this is bad for you and that's bad for you or you shouldn't be doing this, because it is bad for you.  I tend to read the articles, but only take it with a grain of salt, because how do I remember all these things, which are bad for you?

How do you keep up with it, when one day it is bad for you and the next day, it's not.  I just can't keep up with it, so just keep doing what I have been doing, remembering a little bit, of what I read.

Below is the article I was reading, which news outlets use, for human interest I guess.
